Once Kanye’s voice comes in, it’s accompanied by a great electric guitar riff in the background that kind of guides the song into progression. If you hear it in the video, you see Kanye slammin’ away on a drum machine and stretching the intro to the song out into an industrialish, choppy jam. It’s been called the best song of the year and could honestly could be a great contender. Let’s skip to Power, the third song on the record. It’s an excellent intro to the album and get’s you salivating for more. It’s one of those grooves that makes you get up and set forth on a mission with a badass look on your face. Out of nowhere, Kanye slams your face into a pile of dirt as the beat slams in. The record starts with Dark Fantasy and reels you in with heavenly voices from above.

For full effect of the album, you need to watch the short film Kanye directed which employs a selection of the songs from the new album. Don’t be fooled though, like any other album, it has its weak spots. It turned a Kanye hater into a Kanye believer (at least in the studio).
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, even though its title is incredibly annoying to type out, is fantastic! It’s ballsy, fresh, artsy, gritty, techy, and who knows what else. I think it’s time the nay-sayers look past his obscene lack of grace when it comes to conducting himself in the limelight, at least for a little bit… at least long enough to listen to the gem that is his newest album. I figured it would be never that I would muster up the gall to say “Kanye West is a musical genius.” Actually, I probably never will but I can say that with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, he’s gotten pretty damn close. I’m hoping it’s not too late to review this record but here it goes…
